Arriving in Hyderabad for the first Test match against England is Virat Kohli.
In their forthcoming Test series, which is scheduled to start on January 25 in Hyderabad, former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar claimed that India has “Viratball” to counter England’s Bazball strategy. The great batter is playing exceptionally well; by the end of the ODI World Cup 2023, he scored the most runs. Later, in the two-match series against South Africa, the 35-year-old performed admirably and demonstrated his intentions in the second Twenty20 International against Afghanistan.
Gavaskar has supported him to once again walk the walk, and he has long been the difference maker for India. The Three Lions, particularly under Ben Stokes’s direction, are known for their aggressive style of cricket, but they may find it difficult in India’s spin-friendly conditions. The 74-year-old stated that he is excited to watch England’s strategy over the five-match Test series while keeping that in mind.
It’s true that conversion entails having more hundreds than fifty. Given that Kohli has a comparable number of hundreds and fifties, he has a high conversion rate. His mobility seems good, the way he’s been batting. In an interview with Star Sports, Gavaskar stated, “We have Viratball to counter Bazball with the form he’s in.”
The last one to two years have seen England take a different tack in Test cricket. Batters look to attack in this aggressive strategy. Whatever the circumstances, all they want to do is play attacking cricket. It will be intriguing to observe whether this strategy is effective against India’s spinners,” he continued.
Before the first Test, Kohli arrived in Hyderabad.
Players were given a brief respite following the conclusion of the Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan. They will reunite in Hyderabad on January 21st, when they anticipate doing their first training session. Despite arriving in Hyderabad on Saturday, January 20, Kohli might depart for Ayodhya on January 22nd.
He is reportedly allowed to travel for the Pran Pratistha Ceremony at Ram Mandir by BCCI officials. It remains to be seen if he is joined by other players such as Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.
