Andre Adams has joined the national team as the bowling coach, while David Hemp has been appointed as the squad’s batting coach for the Bangladesh Men.
David Hemp, who has served as the High Performance Head Coach from May 2023, has been named the National Men’s team batting coach by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Hemp has previously served as the national team’s batting coach during Bangladesh’s 2018 tour of New Zealand.
Furthermore, Andre Adams, a former all-around player for New Zealand, was appointed as the bowling coach for the national team. Each has a two-year contract when they join. The forthcoming home series versus Sri Lanka will be their first task.
Hemp was a former player for the Bermuda national team. He amassed over 15,500 runs in first-class cricket while playing for Glamorgan, Free State, and Warwickshire.
From 2020 to 2022, he led the Pakistan Women’s National Team as head coach. He holds an ECB Level 4 Coaching Certification. In addition, Hemp served as head coach of the Victoria State Women’s Team and the Women’s Big Bash League’s Melbourne Stars.
Prior to moving to Bangladesh, Adams, a former international for New Zealand, served as the bowling coach for the White Ferns.
He has previously served as Australia’s assistant coach during their 2022–23 series against South Africa and as the bowling coach for the New Zealand men’s team during their most recent T20I series against Pakistan. From 2018 until 2023, Adams served as the New South Wales Blues’ lead bowling coach in the Australian Sheffield Shield.
In March 2024, Sri Lanka will embark on a multi-format visit of Bangladesh.
