In the second One-Day International at Chattogram, Madushanka made two wickets in 6.4 overs while conceding just thirty runs.
The problems with injuries in Sri Lanka are still unrelenting. They were dealing with injury worries during the 2023 World Cup, and it appears that bad luck is still plaguing them as Dilshan Madushanka is the most recent addition to the list. Madushanka has been ruled out of the next last ODI against Bangladesh due to a hamstring issue.
The bowler looked to be in perfect rhythm in the second One-Day International over Bangladesh. In just 6.4 overs, he had secured two wickets while conceding just 30 runs. His aggression was evident as he removed Litton Das in the opening over and removed Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto soon after the powerplay.
But in the middle of his seventh over, Madushanka pulled up a muscle and left the field because of pain. Following that, he was unable to play as Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by three wickets. In a statement, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed the pacer’s injuries and that the mishap caused his tour to end prematurely.
“After sustaining an injury during the second ODI, Dilshan Madushanka will return to begin recovery treatment and will not be participating in the current tour. An MRI study on the player revealed that Madushanka, who left the field while bowling during the second ODI, had sustained a left hamstring injury, according to the statement.
Sri Lanka wins decisively to maintain their position in the series.
Bangladesh, batting first, amassed a respectable 286 runs with the assistance of Towhid Hridoy’s 96. As they were chasing, Sri Lanka had early problems as their top order fell apart before they reached 50 runs. Charith Asalanka (91 off 93) and Pathum Nissanka (114 off 113) saved the day by putting together an essential 185-run combination.
