After winning the opening Test match at Sylhet, Sri Lanka is still undefeated against Bangladesh and is in sixth place. Following their defeat in the ODI series, the tourists overcame Bangladesh as hosts to win the first Test 1-0. And the visitors improved their ranking in the most recent World Test Championship (2023–25) standings with this decisive victory.
After winning by a commanding 328 runs, Sri Lanka has risen to sixth place and is level with Bangladesh in terms of both points and points percentage (PCT). The team won handily at Sylhet because to outstanding efforts from captain Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis, who each produced outstanding hundreds in both innings of the Test match.
Mendis scored 102 and 164, while De Silva scored 102 and 108, earning him the Player of the Match honors. The two visitors who took the most wickets in the match were Kasun Rajitha (8 wickets) and Vishwa Fernando (7 wickets), who combined for a total of 15 wickets.

Pakistan has moved up one spot to the No. 4 spot with a point % of 36.66, while the West Indies has jumped to the No. 5 spot with a better points total of 16 than Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, even though they have the same points percentage.
