The elbow injury that has sidelined young fast bowler Ihsanullah raises concerns for Pakistani cricket fans and need additional evaluation by a reputable orthopedic physician. The speedster, 21, who already made his debut for his country in 2023, has been dispatched to Manchester, England to consult with Professor Adam Watts, an expert in treatments pertaining to the elbow, shoulder, wrist, and hands.
Ihsanullah, a Pakistan Super League (PSL) player for the Multan Sultans, has only made five appearances for his country in international competitions. His most recent participation came in an ODI match against New Zealand in April of 2023. Although the entire degree of his elbow injury is unknown, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has moved quickly to guarantee the budding player gets the finest care available.
The PCB claims that Ihsanullah’s franchise, Multan Sultans, worked with the board to make this significant appointment possible. The entire cost of his care and ensuing recovery will be paid for by the PCB.
No mismanagement in this instance: Dr. Sohail Saleem, the chief of PCB’s medical department, stated that although there had been a delay in the initial diagnosis, there had not been any mistreatment of Ihsanullah’s case. “There was no mishandling in this case, I’ll admit there was a delay [in the initial diagnosis], but no mishandling.” ESPNcricinfo was told by Dr. Saleem.
“I expressed my desire to have further tests performed since I thought there might be a cause other than workload syndrome. Not my team, but the physician who used to work here at the PCB made the diagnosis. We received an inaccurate prognosis from a lab that performed an MRI on us. We discovered the fracture after I requested the same MRI once again,” he continued.
