In the match against Bangladesh, Sikandar Raza will be leading the team.
The Zimbabwe Cricket Association has revealed their team for the forthcoming five-match Twenty20 International series against Bangladesh. The series, which will start on May 3 and tour Bangladesh, will see both teams trying to win and give strong performances.
The final two games of the series are slated to take place in Dhaka, while the first three games will take place in Chattogram. Despite Zimbabwe’s failure to make it to the 2024 T20 World Cup, which kicks off on June 2, the series may serve as Bangladesh’s best training ground for the main event.
It’s noteworthy to note that Sikandar Raza will continue to captain the team, but Zimbabwe called up players like Tadiwanashe Marumani and Faraz Akram for the series. In addition, Jonathan Campbell, the son of former captain Alistair Campbell, will play for Zimbabwe in the five-game series.
The remaining roster will be the same as that which went to Sri Lanka in January 2024, and former cricket player Stuart Matsikenyeri will lead the team in the absence of a head coach.
Both Brian Bennett Java and Clive Madande were able to hold onto their berths in the senior team and will play. It may prove to be an intimidating job for the visitors to take on Bangladesh. They will, nevertheless, be hoping to draw inspiration from their most recent series with Sri Lanka.
Zimbabwe even the series with a victory over Sri Lanka in one match, but ultimately lost the series after losing the decider. Zimbabwe, however, will want to repeat their performances against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka after they managed to mount a strong fight against the latter.
In their most recent Twenty20 International series, Bangladesh lost both the series and two of the three matches against Sri Lanka. After suffering a setback prior to the match against Zimbabwe,
