IPL 2024’s Flop International Playing XI | IPL 2024 Flop Sixth Week of Overseas XI
By the end of the sixth week, the IPL 2024 has become more competitive. With the exception of the top two teams in the table, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), every other team appears to be vying for a berth in the top 4. The teams would want their players to be performing at their highest level since the postseason race is really on. For the teams, the performance of the foreign players in particular will be crucial.
Some players have been playing at their best, while others have not been at their best. Nonetheless, a few players have given performances.
Here is the IPL 2024 openers’ flop abroad XI at the conclusion of the sixth week. De Kock Quinton (WK) and Ravindra Rachin
In the games he has participated in thus far, Quinton de Kock has fallen short of expectations. The Southpaw has scored 236 runs in 9 innings at a batting average of 26.22 and a strike rate of 136.41, with 3 fifty-score hits to his credit. But in a season when batters have been extremely explosive, his impact at bat has been lackluster and delayed. In the games in which he failed to reach fifty runs, de Kock performed badly. For this side, he will hold the wickets.
The second opener for the team will be Rachin Ravindra. In the first two games, the Southpaw played well for CSK, but in the remaining four games, he struggled. With a top score of 46, the great batter has amassed 133 runs in 7 innings with a batting average of 19.00 and a batting SR of 164.19. He played aggressively in the first two games, but after the teams found a means to get rid of him, things became more difficult. He is also something of a bowler if needed.
Shimron Hetmyer and Rilee Rossouw are in the middle order.
Rille Rossouw is ranked third, although he hasn’t been playing his best. The PBKS hitter has scored 43 runs, with a batting average of 15.80 and a hitting strike rate of 151.92 over the course of five innings. Although the Southpaw has a strong SR, he is not very consistent. After being selected by PBKS over players like Atharv Taide, Jonny Bairstow, and Prabsimran Singh, the hitter has had a respectable run. However, he has failed to perform at the bat to the level that the management and supporters had hoped for.
Shimron Hetmyer hasn’t had a lot of opportunities to bat. But in the little opportunities he has had, his batting performance has not been at its peak. He has scored 5 (7), 14 (7), 11 (6), 13 (5), 27 (10), 0 (1), and 13 (9 so far in the league). The Southpaw has scored 83 runs in 7 innings with a strike rate of 184.44 and an average of 27.66, with a top score of 27* (10). Hetmyer’s overall numbers appear impressive, but for the past three seasons, he has not been at his best.
Mohammad Nabi (C), Glenn Maxwell, Azmatullah Omarzai, Marco Jansen, and Mitchell Marsh (Impact replacement) are all-round players.
In the current IPL 2024 season, Glenn Maxwell has been batting terribly. Although the star batter has not performed well as a batter, he has been excellent with the ball. Azmatullah Omarzai hasn’t shown much skill with the ball or the bat. Despite not picking up wickets up front, he has performed admirably in the economical frontline. Omarzai was unable to have an effect even as a hitter because he was frequently removed for single digit scores. One of the other all-rounders who has struggled is Muhammad Nabi.
