The ITC Maurya Hotel is the champions’ accommodation, and plans have been established for the team’s security from IGI Airport to the hotel.
Following their victory with the coveted T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, the Indian team departed for New Delhi. A cyclone in Barbados delayed the team’s departure after the tournament’s conclusion on June 29. At last, today at 2:26 PM IST, the crew departed the coasts of the West Indies and will arrive in New Delhi early on July 4. Before heading to Mumbai, they will have a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Security has been stepped up when the team lands at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The crew has made security arrangements for their transfer from IGI Airport to the ITC Maurya Hotel, where they will be staying. In addition, the police have scheduled escort cars with armed police officers in them for the trip to the hotel. Around six in the morning on Thursday, the crew will arrive in Delhi. They will then meet at his house at 11 a.m. to meet the PM.
The Indian team will march in a triumph procession from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai following their meeting with the Prime Minister. Mumbai’s security is also being reinforced because a large number of fans are anticipated for the road show. The captain of India, Rohit Sharma, informed the supporters about the victory parade on social media.
A difficult day for Mumbai’s typical car movement
To prevent more confusion during the event, car commuting has been suspended prior to the parade. For example, from NCPA to the Princess Street bridge, all traffic—aside from emergency vehicles—will be prohibited from using NS Road (the northbound arm). All car traffic on the Princess Street Bridge leading to the NCPA/Mantralaya Junction will be halted. Luckily, the cars have been given permission to use an other route.
